It’s all about the grease

OK, here’s something interesting, in an era when most of the nation is switching to low-fat, no MSG, baked-not-fried, wholesome, organically-grown, non-processed foods, Dyers Burgers in Memphis has not only been deep-frying its burgers, but doing so in the same grease for the past 90 years.

Are You F*cking Kidding Me? (Facebook Song) LIVE

Sorry about the language in this song (she repeatedly says the “F” word, but you can turn down (or off) your sound, as it is subtitled), but I just saw this and, well, it is F*cking Hilarious! the song is by Kate Miller-Heidke who sings this very funny song about her old flames on Facebook. Recorded live at HiFi Bar by psychoandy689.

Apparently the Douchebag of the year award goes to…

I didn’t watch the Video Music Awards (well I never do), but I heard about this “incident” with Kanye West interrupting Taylor Swift’s VMA moment in the sun by declaring Beyonce’s video much better.

Well, not only this did cast a pall over the awards (causing fans to book West), but then later, Beyonce (the classy lady that she is), invited Swift up on stage to finish her acceptance speech.

Fun with Lego

You remember Lego, right? They are those fun euro blocks that we used to build cool crap with when we were kids. Well, apparently Legos aren’t just for kids. Apparently there is are a bunch of folks who have been utilizing these kid toys to make some fairly sophisticated videos. Including Coleman Hickey, who (when he was 14) produced a stop-action film using Lego pieces and figures to depict a concert performance of the song “Tonight I’m Gonna Rock You Tonight,” by Spinal Tap.

Well, as can be expected, the guys from Spinal Tap (Harry Shearer, Christopher Guest, and Michael McKean) were so entertained by it, that they wanted to include it on their upcoming DVD. Unfortunately Lego was not amused, and denied them the ability to use the vid.

“We love that our fans are so passionate and so creative with our products,” said Julie Stern, a spokeswoman for Lego Systems, the United States division of the Lego Group, a Danish company founded in the 1930s. “But it had some inappropriate language, and the tone wasn’t appropriate for our target audience of kids 6 to 12.”

According to The NY Times article:

Many are tempted to place wholesome looking Lego characters in unwholesome situations, as evidenced by a video that has drawn more than 1.4 million views on YouTube, Lego Weapon Store. It begins with one Lego character approaching another at a sales counter and saying, “I’d like to buy a weapon to kill my neighbor.”

Another YouTube video, a parody of Girls Gone Wild called Legos Gone Wild, depicts the figures exposing themselves to the camera as they “Lego their inhibitions.” It has been viewed more than 200,000 times.

Needless to say, these are just the tip of a very big video iceberg.

Seriously, check it out.
