I have been donating blood to the American Red Cross since I was 18 or 20, in the intervening years, I have been doing so at the rate of between two and six times a year.
At this point in time, I have donate over 17 gallons of blood; one pint at a time (8 pints in a gallon x 17 gallons = 136).
Yep, that’s quite a bit of blood, especially considering that the average human body has some 5 to 6 quarts (about a gallon and a half) in it at any one time.
