The Return of John Wilcox
by The Perfessor br>John Wilcox is a buddy of mine, my sometimes writing partner, and an extraordinarily talented fellow. He is also a comicstrip character. No, I haven’t taken leave of my senses I never had any, nor have I taken to talking to any 6' Rabbits named Harvey, either. John is a real as am I (after a fashion) but he has also achieved a fame that surpasses my own and inspires awe and envy in others.
Don’t believe me? Check it out for yourself; John has appeared once again (this time on March 3rd), in Bob Webber Sr.’s syndicated comic strip Moose and Molly. Now I ask you, what’s cooler than that?
I’ve known John for over 20 years, and I’m constantly impressed by him. Today, I want to reach out and touch him, not — I might add — in a Brokeback Mountain sort of way, but, in the way heterosexual, grown men do in sort of a gosh-wow, “If I touch you, perhaps I too could become famous,” sort of way.
