Tweets from the Dead

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

So, unless you’ve been living in a cave (without access to the Internet), you would have missed that Keith Carradine, Ed Mcmahon, Farah Fawcett, Michael Jackson, Billy Mays, Fred Travalena, and now Jeff Goldblum have all died.

Wait, you didn’t hear about Goldbloom? You say that you can still see him on Law & Order: Criminal Intent on the USA Network on Sunday nights. Well, apparently then you missed the Tweet about his death, the report on Channel Nine from New Zealand TV:

Still, perhaps you watched this bit on the Colbert Report:

Bitch-Slapping Atlas!

Thursday, March 12th, 2009

ayn_randBack in 1957, writer, philosopher, Ayn Rand published the novel, Atlas Shrugged. The book has been hailed as her greatest achievement. In the novel she dramatized her unique philosophy in an intellectual mystery story that integrated ethics, metaphysics, epistemology, politics, economics, and sex. Although she considered herself primarily a fiction writer, she realized that in order to create heroic fictional characters, she had to identify the philosophic principles which make such individuals possible.

Interestingly enough, even though this novel was written over half a Century ago, it (apparently) still speaks to us in these modern times. Well, at least according to fake TV political pundit, Steven Colbert.

Not only funnier than you thought, but funnier than you could think possible. Oh, and if you want to check out the Going John Galt site, feel free to do that as well.

Formidable Opponent: Steven Colbert on the Bailout

Friday, October 3rd, 2008

If you missed Steven Colbert debating himself last night on his show, you need to watch it now. Seriously, keep watching as the bailout becomes a metaphor for wild sexual abandon — or does sex become a metaphor for wild investing abandon? Who can tell, but it truly hit the sweet spot of my political funnybone.

I don’t know about you, but I need a cigarette.
