Pushing your Buttons

So you heard that I went to a comicbook convention over the weekend and while I was there I conducted some business with my client, met with some old friends, and made some new friends. One of those new friends was the folks over at Twin Comics, who not only have online web comic entitled Night Owls.
However, the real reason that we became such good buddies was because of the wicked-cool Tchachka they had at their table. For only a buck, you could purchase a hand-drawn image on a small button. Most of us chose to have our own faces emblazoned on the button. Personally, I was so taken by this nifty doo-dad, that I sent some 20 folkls over to their table insisting that they also purchase a button.
Well, when I arrived home that night from the convention and showed off my button, My daughter, Kayla, immediately very innocently asked “Why didn’t you get one for me, daddy.†What could I do. The following day at the con, I went back to Twin Comic’s table and puyrchased two additional buttons, one for K, and a second for Gwen, my neice (who was staying over with us that night).
Appearing with this post are those three buttons.
Now, how totally cool is that?
The Perfessor
This Saturday is the eighth annual Free Comic Book Day. Comic Book shops all over the country will participate in an event that is Part Christmas, part Festivus, and Part St Swivin’s day. It is the coolest day of the year for funnybook fans. Mostly because it involves free comicbooks. That’s right some 20+ companies will be giving away close to 40 comics.
