So, you want to be a comicbook villain?
by The Perfessor br>Ho-kaay boys and girls, this was supposed to have been my slavish post about the over-the-top excesses in in the colaboration of Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller in the film adaption of Frank's comicbook Sin City come to life. Only the site went kaflooie yesterday, and ate a big chunk of my posting before it ever got up to the server.
So, not to be at a loss for something to post, I've decided to go with this little ditty that I had previously written and archived but not yet posted. If all goes well, my Sin City post will be up tomorrow.
Recent posts both here and elsewhere have indicated that Thomas Haden Church will be appearing in the Spider-Man 3 movie due out in 2007.
Well, the Internet rumor mill has him cast as either Kraven, Sandman, Venom, or any one of a dozen other villains.
Well, since our good buddy and blog partner Walt being the top-flight graphic artist that he is, gave us his rendition of Church-as-Kraven (top left).
Not to be outdone, (and being not too shabby in the graphic artist dept. myself) I felt that (since there is currently very strong fanboy "evidence" that he will actually (or more likely) portray Sandman) it was only fair for me to come back with my version of Church-as-Sandman (bottom right).
Now, given that we are both reasonably proficient with Photoshop, I'm certain that we could spend the rest of the next two years 'til the flick is actually released running the full gamut of Spidey villains, swapping heads all the way (I’d show you Church-as-Venom, but Venom, like Spidey, wears a full face mask).
Still, while I'm sure there will be will, most assuredly, be many more posts (again here and elsewhere) on this very (lame) subject, but I've already moved on to other things in my head.

The server's been whacko lately, and likes to reboot all by itself in the morning. However, this isn't the server I control. I hope to change that soon enough and do a little consolodating.
I need to move this site over to our primary server, and I may do it as soon as this weekend.
As to current events, I've been slacking in both posting and watching for the latest James Bond to be announced, as I've been busy flunking out of the Jeopardy Tryouts here in Houston.
I hope to be out of the present funk and back to sniping as usual soon enough.
In the meantime, here's a key item on my personal todo list for when I become an evil villian:

If you are looking for additional possibilities of Mr. Church as a villain, then you can look here, and yes, I'm just betting that you'll be able to see more of this silliness as we proceed.
