From Page Six:
July 12, 2006 -- JUST like Ron Burgundy, the lead character in "Anchorman," it seems CNBC anchor Joe Kernan will say anything that's on the teleprompter. Monday afternoon, while doing a roundup of the weekend's box office,
Kernan said: "Disney was the big winner . . . 'Pirates' plunders the box office, making $132 million in its first three days at the box office. The previous three-day record was 'Aquaman' at $120-plus, which beat out the 115 million which was set back by 'Spider-Man' back in May of '02.' "
Unfortunately, there has been no "Aquaman" movie - except in episodes of HBO's "Entourage." A rep for CNBC didn't return calls.
I love it when TV news readers don't know the difference between reality and illusion. Kind of like Dan Rather and his stack of truthy memos...

Does that mean he didn't like Superman either?

Ha!
It's hard to find people that loved SUPERMAN RETURNS. Those that do love that movie, it's a sure bet they hated PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN 2.
For fake movies, "James Cameron's AQUAMAN" was about the best one out there.
I don't watch "Entourage", but I'm told that the characters on the show were chatting up who would write and direct AQUAMAN 2, (because James Cameron wasn't coming back) and someone said, (for Director) Michael Bay.
(and writing?) Kevin Smith.
The other character replied some expletive and said he was having none of it...

For what it is worth, I actually did like both films. Love them both, not so much, but I did rather enjoy them both. (To be sure, I liked Pirates better than Superman).
