I'm just curious, if a man accused of killing a cop is referred to as an “African American,†why is the dead cop referred to as White? Shouldn't the cop be referred to as “American,†or “White American,†or whatever European country his ancestors came from 100 years ago? Or perhaps if we are going to refer to “White†folks as “White†then (in the same sentence at least) can’t we call the other guy “Black�
More to the point, isn’t it about time to stop segregating the country by our language?
The guy who was accused of the shooting is an American, the cop was an American, I'm an American; anyone who is a citizen of this country is an American.
