A few things I couldn't resist:

Would you boycott a airport?

If you want to support Larry Craig in his bid to un-plead guilty to you should!

Larry Craig's daughter (adopted) spoke out in public in support of her father.

Locals saw her face and called in... because they knew
Senator Larry Craig's daughter had a warrant out for her arrest.

Get a Round 'Tuit--
-- If you can get around the belly, you can get to it --

While rehearsing for his farewell performance at Covent Garden, Pavarotti sloped off to his dressing room with two female dancers. And was discovered a little later, by the runner sent to retrieve him, enjoying oral sex from one, while the other held his stomach out of the way.

Blackwater, the private security firm doing business in Iraq, purchased fighter-bomber planes for their troops in Iraq.

Apparently, their helicopters weren't killing enough people.

Osama bin Laden drives a bomb up to the hotel where all the heads of state are hanging out in Sydney, Australia.

Okay, the bomb was a fake, and Osama was a fake, too.

Comedy Gold? Eh, not so much. Arrested comedians ensue.

I like the part where the local eateries couldn't put metal forks and knives on the tables of those dining near the venue. Safety First!

Giving up two iPhones because they suck - one story

UPDATE: From the author of the story, Carly(paraphrasing): "The iPhone is great, but it's AT&T's service that was so terrible"
From me to Carly: If the iPhone can't be used as an phone because the service is so bad, then it's just an expensive iPod.
Note: Carly is a big fan of Apple products, and loves Apple, even though her iBook laptop died hard so many times, she had to get the thing replaced earlier this year.

iChump

On the iPhone's price cut: I don't have much sympathy for those who just couldn't wait to get their hands on the iPhone just so they could be one of the cool kids, only to be stung by The Object of Your Desire's $200 price drop. I have a name for them: iChumps. For these folks, hype breeds irrational desire based on impulse, and those with poor impulse control pay the price. In this case, the price is $200. Think of it as your Cool Tax, gang, and an expensive lesson learned.

Anyone watching Katie Couric's couple of days in Iraq on the CBS Evening News?

I tuned in, just to see which slant she was going to take. She slanted it one way the first day, and pretty much the other way on the second day, so you might think it's a wash. But I didn't consider it a wash... It was near a perfect middle of the road stance. Taking both slants on it was brilliant, and kudos to Katie. Keeping the slant to the anti-occupation side would have been expected. Taking the "Americans are doing some good in Iraq" slant would have been too much of an abandonment of the left of center view the CBS News has been taking for a while. It came out with two different sides, which is what news is supposed to be a bit like. News isn't supposed to be perfect. Just show us both sides. As best as you can.

This was the first time that Katie Couric, long suffering from my criticism of her journalistic chops, has earned any sort of praise from me. I haven't been vocal about my criticism of her here in this blog, but elsewhere.

I take half of my criticism back, Katie. You've started to prove a reason why you're worth listening to. Keep it up, and I might start watching more.

Finally, you can put any public domain book in your blog:

Cuppacafe takes no responsibility if you injure eyes squinting to read the crappy Google scan.
