In the “David spits in Goliath’s eye” Department: Limewire has filed it’s answer in a pending lawsuit claiming that the RIAA was actually responsible for antitrust violations, consumer fraud, and generally being an asshole. [link]
This is a counter claim to a lawsuit originally made by the RIAA.
Even if you don’t know what Limewire is, and it really doesn’t matter, just understand that Goliath usually wins these things.

If you use “Pod” in your application that involves some vid/sound recording to be put on people’s “iPod” devices, Apple may want to have a word with you. [more in link]
I think the great unwashed are still safe using the word “Podcast” for now, but Apple doesn’t want you making money from using it. It’s just a different Goliath, folks.
Somewhere, another canary in the coalmine just keeled over.

The Feds are relaxing the water/gel laws for flying.
You can bring up to four ounces of your personal lubricant, so it looks like you’ll only be limited to two trips to the bathroom for that special “Mile High Club” scenario you’ve convinced those twins of…

Regarding the Desperate Houswives / Grey’s Anatomy split and move, I predicted that GA would do okay but not quite as well, but that DH would fail without the help of GA.
Well, Grey’s Anatomy did great, but DH is indeed losing out on Sundays. Looks like the beginning of the end for the show, no matter the quality of the first episode.
Without Grey’s Anatomy to help it, Desperate Housewives to Cold Case on CBS.

I’ll prolly have a separate take on Heroes that premeired on NBC last night. I purposefully avoided all chatter about this show, wanting to come into it blind. It didn’t matter.
Heroes was a very decent show, and was worth watching. I was expecting considerably more cheese and was pleasantly surprised.
If you missed it, either go and catch it or simply wait for next week. Not much in the way of spoilers, the show started a bit slow on plot, so it’s okay if you missed the first show.

Remember what I said sometime back about how Beyonce’ was headed for a major fall? (“not doing so well lately” was my actual quote) My sources were on the money.
…sales of her new album, ‘B’Day’, have fallen by 70 per cent in the US.
Beyoncé, 25, said in an interview with Blender magazine: “I make black records. I write records like I speak, and I don’t try to change my songs so everyone else likes them.”
I like the girl, but I think she got overpromoted and that kind of glittery popularity can flitter away in a heartbeat, leaving little core support.
Girlfriend, let’s talk. I’ll set you up right!

Oprah isn’t running for President, and she accidentally allowed her lawyers to be nasty to the man who set up http://www.oprah08.net
Oprah swears all is forgiven, and will probably say so on her new channel on XM Radio for which she’s getting paid $55Million dollars a minute.

Daylight raid in Iraq from a couple of years ago, rescuing a kidnap for money victim

Basically, it’s a “nothing goes wrong and good guys win” thing. If only our leadership was as good as our Armed Forces.

And finally, a get rich quick scheme that’s good for today only!
You can buy a new domain for mobile phones.
Instead of the “.com” there’s now the “.mobi” for mobile phones.
It’s a Gold Rush! Run run! Buy, Buy! Sheesh.
$45 per domain for the early adopters, $35/year after that.
Give me a break.
But, just in case you have money here’s the link.
If you register a name there today or this week, give me a shout out. I’ll make fun of you.
