Cuppabits August 30th

Mick Jagger is 63 years old and uses a teleprompter because he's paranoid about forgetting the lyrics to the songs he's sung a million times. So, it's natural that that when the teleprompter failed, Mick couldn't sing the next line of the song, "Ruby Tuesday". He sang the previous verse again. Don't get me wrong... We all wish we could be on stage singing songs until we die, but the fear of looking old in public on stage has got to be the scariest thing I can imagine.

Apparently, "Supernova" is a name that bands like. No, not the Tommy Lee promotional vehicle, nor the original band named "Supernova"... This time, the band Oasis will be using Supernova. It's going to be part of the name of each of the hotels in a hotel chain they're forming. Yes. The band Oasis is creating a hotel chain. Well, that's their plan, anyways.

Room themes are big with Liam and Noel Gallagher. They wanted to install alcohol and cigarettes in each room in a New York hotel to commemorate their song, "Alcohol and Cigarettes". Yeah, THAT went over well... I can't wait until they come out with a song called, "Hookers and Blow"...

Robert Heinlein's last book comes out on September 19th. The novel is based on the notes and outline created by Heinlein for the novel over 50 years ago.

Go to the book's website named after the book, Variable Star and you can read the first eight chapters before the book comes out. (Excerpts section). [via Slashdot]

While I realize that it's the Heinlein estate that's in charge of putting out the book, I'm not all together happy about books put out after the author originally created the thing, even in note form.

It's a hot dog ad. Really.

It just doesn't LOOK like a hot dog ad.

I know what you are thinking

And speaking of strange ads, click on this pic to get more information on how you can get a 2.2 million Dark M&M candies as a reward.

M&M and the Scream guy

All you have to do is return the original "Scream" painting.

I'm not sure exactly how this is a wrong thing, but I do think it's weird.

For a variety of reasons, I'm pretty sure that Gaming has peaked. The reason(s) I'll keep quiet on, but thought I'd say something now.

Wonder Woman. While we'd all like to cast the role in the upcoming film with our favorite movie star, the NYPost has an article discussing how American Idol runner up Katherine McPhee might also be in the running for the slot.

Katherine McPhee

Josh Wheedon would never stoop so low... but yes, I do think McPhee is hot.

And finally, the server outage from yesterday was explained by a failed high tech whatchacallit at the server farm. We're sorry for the outage, and promise to feed the hamsters more... more than the slop they are feeding the hamsters on CBS' Big Brother...

Uh. Is that hot dog ad Norwegian?

  2. Walt Says:

I don't know if the hot dog is Norwegian, but the ad probably is.

  3. The Perfessor Says:

Heh, I was thinking of a very (and more southernly located) group of ethnic individuals...

Oh, and is it me, or does McPhee look quite a bit like Valerie Bertinelli?

I think hot dog sales have shot up in San Francisco, Palm Springs, and Fire Island for some unexplained reason.

  5. Walt Says:

    ha! funny!

  6. Emma Says:

Well, that's what I asked. If the AD was Norwegian. I sometimes can't tell if something's Danish or Norwegian, but a hot dog of that size has to be Norwegian, so...
