Oh yeah, almost forgot. The first picture in the post has the kids with Mookie (the black one held by my daughter), and Peanut. Photo #2 has Kayla and Mookie a year or so later. The final image is that of K and a young Zazu.

Mookie (Peanut’s brother) passed away unexpectedly, and Zazu joined us shortly afterwards. She was a tad feral at first (we suspect that she might ave been a stray before we acquired her), but she has mostly calmed down since then.

I'm a cat person, too! My two boys are indoor cats, though--there's a leash law here, and we live in the city, so it's safest to not let them roam. They're still hunters, and they love it when bugs come inside the house. If a mouse ever showed up, it'd be the best day of their lives. As it is, I'm happy that they get rid of insects, because I loathe those creepy crawlers! Anyone saying cats are useless is crazy. They're better pest control than nasty chemicals. :)

Oh, and my cats will sometimes sit and watch at the dinner table, if the food smells irresistably delicious to them. If there's ice cream or whipped cream of some sort, they're especially bad about begging. And *someone* (not me, I promise) always gives in and spoils them...
