Bill O’Reilly (and Fox News) Shamelessly Re-write History

OK, we’ve had some good fun Bitch-slapping Beck, Palin, and several of these other right-wing conservative pompous windbags here in the Cafe, but I really got quite irritated when i saw the following clip, of Bill O’Reilly quite obviously screwing up historical facts so as to make his point. Watch Keith Olbermann, roundly deliver a Gibbs-style smack to the back of the head of Pappa Bear.

Keith Olbermann then went on to pointy that Bill, has not only yet to apologize for his misrepresenting history, Fox news Scrubbed clean the transcript of the O’Reilly to obscure his unrepentant error. See the followup here. In this followup, Olbermann points out that O’Reilly is lining up on the side of disgraced Senator Joe McCarthy.

I don’t watch this jackass, and now I hope that no one else will as well.

    O'Reilly is a buffoon. That's really not a question any more. What has happened with more frequency is the inability for him and his team to deflect criticism of the errors coming out of his mouth.

    What this then does is call into question O'Reilly's motives -- we know he was a hateful bastard before -- even before he was ever on FOX. But now we suspect he's a petty hateful biased bastard with tinges of racism/anti-Semite coloring everything.

    As for the timing of this latest outburst, I really think it has to do with the recent 5th anniversary of Loofahgate:
